Unique chair features a cool seat made of thick and transparent acrylic block, almost like a slab of crystal or ice.
Inspired by European game “Mikado” (pick-up sticks), the Stick Chair by Emmanuelle Moureaux is an exploration of structural ingenuity.
Seven wooden sticks are positioned at daring and oblique angles that support a substantial acrylic seat.
Because of the way acrylic refracts light, some of the sticks appear distorted or doubled, adding to the creative optical illusion.
The overall look is whimsical and unconventional. Stick Chair appears delicate and unstable, but in reality, it is structurally sound.
The arrangement feels chaotic, yet the Stick Chair is perfectly balanced.
