Audi Tradition Auto Union Lucca

Audi has recreated the Auto Union Lucca, an airplane shaped car originally built to push the limits of speed and aerodynamics in 1935.

Reconstructed by Crosthwaite & Gardiner over a period of more than three years and completed in early 2026.

The Auto Union Lucca combines handcrafted aluminum bodywork with advanced aerodynamic design.

Teardrop fenders, enclosed wheels, and tapered tail create a shape closer to an aircraft than a conventional automobile. In 1935, it was the future.
