Comfortable sofa reconsiders the role of upholstery by replacing fixed skin with interchangeable felt quilts.
Filo Sofa designed by Barber Osgerby is defined by two requirements: exceptional scale and uncompromising comfort.
In place of conventional internal padding and fixed upholstery, the sofa employs six individual layers of felt quilts.
Interchangeable layers provide a soft and inviting surface while offering the flexibility to vary colour combinations.

Felt quilts can be rearranged, swapped, or combined in different sequences.

Layering is at the heart of the Filo Sofa. Six felt quilts form the seat and back, their thickness creating depth and tangible comfort.

Exposed solid oak frame becomes a sculptural presence, while layered felt quilts give the sofa both warmth and expressive versatility.

Nothing is hidden: the oak frame is celebrated, the felt layers are intentionally exposed, and the design avoids the usual padding and concealment.
