This beautiful modern building, comprised of 12 stacked houses, was built by Herzog & de Meuron for the Vitra Campus in Weil am Rhein, Germany.
The concept of the VitraHaus connects two main themes: the theme of the archetypal house and the theme of stacked volumes.

the interesting thing about this is that at first glance it would seem quite dark inside-but if the photos are any indication, there is actually quite a lot of natural light thruout the spaces.
I’d like to experience it from the inside.

Jim if you read a bit farther and take another look you will see that this isn’t apartments rather it is a store for a furniture designer so no shared walls, floors, or ceilings. So no awful living situation here.
