In the original Cinderella wears fur slippers and not glass. Her feet are tired from working all day so the slippers were meant to be comfortable squirrel fur. Only later was it replaced with glass as the two words sound the same in French

Also, the original slippers in the Wizard of Oz were silver. They were changed to ruby red to showcase the new color technology in the movie. Point aside, cool stuff!
