Innovative posters designed by Finn Magee can show accurate time, produce bright light, and play music from your smartphone.
Flat 2D images function just like real three-dimensional clocks, speakers, and lamps. Electronic components are hidden behind each poster.

I would love the clock one for my room.

Interesting experiment but could he possibly make it any less visually stimulating? It’s like a large stock image as it is now…
Now this is innovative design at its finest. I live in a one-bedroom apartment and I don’t have that much space. The one with the lamp would be really useful :)
I wana know what the cheesy music is on that speaker video!
Interesting concept that is not fully flushed out yet, particularly in design. I agree with Max: could they may it any less visually stimulating? Do I really want to look at a 1980s clock radio? Not sure of the value of a static, non-directional light at bedside. I wonder what a small space expert such as Ikea would do with this? The hanging cord is hideous! But, I think they’re on to something.
Yeah, do my washing machine and dryer next. Shades of our televisions for the future.
I’m not exactly sure what the point of this experiment is. Someone suggested this would be great for an apartment… except so would a hanging digital clock and LED strip lights. Both available at Ikea….
If I remember correctly they had a radio like this in around 2004, but it was more visually interesting and sold in the toy section of the stores.
